1. General

Q1.1: What Is PiX 'n' PaLs? Is it a photosharing service?

A1.1: PiX 'n' PaLs is much more than just a photo sharing site. It gives users an excellent way to document events they have been to together with their friends. It is a photo sharing service in the sense that an event is an excellent place for you and your friends to store your photos from an event. While it provides all the functionality top photo sharing services does, PiX 'n' PaLs adds additional value by grouping all the events you have been to and forming a story, i.e. The Story of Your Life.

2. Registration

Q2.1: I registered to the service, but did not receive an email to confirm my email address. What should I do?

A2.1: Please check your JUNK/SPAM mailbox, since the email may have been categorized as spam. When you find it, simply click on the "Not Spam" or "mark as safe" button in order to allow future mails through. Then, you can click on the link in the mail and proceed. If you cannot find the mail, please, contact support support@pixnpals.com.

Q2.2: When I click on the link in the invitation mail and come to the registration form, it says that the registration does not exist or it has expired even if I recently got the invitation.

A2.2: Your email program may have split the link into several rows. Please copy each part of the link and combine them on one line. Copy this line to your browser.

3. Friends

Q3.1: How do I invite friends?

A3.1: The Friends page has a list of people you have added as friends. You can invite friends by typing their email addresses into the yellow box in the upper left hand corner. Or you can search for people on the search page, and use the Add as friend link. You can invite participants to events with the add friends button on the My Story page.

Q3.2: Why do I have friends on my list even if I have not invited anyone?

A3.2: In the old version of PiX 'n' PaLs, the definition of a friend was someone with whom you have been to the same event. Therefore, all the people you shared events with were your friends. We have now changed it so that you need to add your friends, but we have not removed any relationships. You can remove people you do not know with the "remove friend" button.

Q3.3: Why do I have a lot of weird people on my friends list that I do not know?

A3.3: In the old version of PiX 'n' PaLs, the definition of a friend was someone with whom you have been to the same event. Therefore, all the people you shared events with were your friends. We have now changed it so that you need to add your friends, but we have not removed any relationships. You can remove people you do not know with the "remove friend" button.

4. Photos, Events and Story

Q4.1: I added a duplicate photo, how can I delete it?

A4.1: There is an icon in the upper right hand corner of each thumb of the photos you have uploaded. Click on it to open an edit box.

Q4.2: I forgot to caption a photo or want to change the caption, what can I do?

A4.2: You can use the same edit function as in the previous question Q4.1.

Q4.3: How can I arrange my photos?

A4.3: There is an "Arrange Photos" button on the event page for your own photos.

Q4.4: What is tagging and how can I tag people?

A4.4: Tagging is a way to mark certain areas in photos and assign a piece of information to them. This information can either be another user or any arbitrary text. In PiX 'n' PaLs, users can draw any rectangular area in a photo and assign either a user or a text to it. For example, one can draw a rectangular area around a person's face and assign the person to the area. After this, whenever a user clicks on the persons face in the photo, the user will be redirected to the tagged person's profile page. To tag, just click on the yellow "Tag Photo" button on the photo page.

Q4.5: I typed in the wrong event name, description or date. How can I change it?

A4.5: There is allways an edit icon next to information that can be edited.

Q4.6: I have invited friends to an event, but they do not register.

A4.6: Please contact your friends and tell them that you have invited them to the service. It is possible that they have not received the email for various reasons. First, it is possible that the email was categorized as spam, in which case you can advise them to check their SPAM/JUNK mailbox. When they find it, they can click on the "Not Spam" or "mark as safe" button in order to allow future mails through. Then, they can register by clicking on the link in the mail. 5. Public Profile

Q5.1: I have seen that some people have events and photos on their profile pages. How can I publish events and photos on my page?

A5.1: Please go the "My Profile" page and click on the yellow "Publish Events" button. You will get redirected to a page where you have all your events in the right column and the ones you have published in your left. In your case, the left column is probably empty. Click the "Add to My Public Story" button on the events you want to publish and complete the wizard.

Q5.2: How can I share/show my events on Facebook, MySpace and other web sites?

A5.2: On the "My Profile" and the event boxes you see on the page, there are small "Share This" icons. Click on the icon or the text to open a box where you can select the service where you want to share the content.
